| The Stars signed co-general managers Brett Hull and Les Jackson to three-year extensions Thursday. Hull and Jackson were named interim co-general managers on November 13 and helped the Stars reach the Western Conference finals for the first time since 2000. The pair made a couple of notable moves this past season, acquiring center Brad Richards from Tampa Bay and signing center Mike Ribeiro to a five-year contract.

| Sporting the second-best record in the Western Conference, the Dallas Stars on Friday signed coach Dave Tippett to a one-year extension through the 2008-09 season. The Stars also signed assistant coaches Rick Wilson and Mark Lamb to one-year extensions. Financial terms of the deals were not disclosed. Tippett's contract was set to expire on June 30 of next year. In his fifth season with the Stars, Tippett, 46, boasts a 212-109-45 record, the best mark of any active NHL coach. Since taking over in Dallas in 2002, the Stars' own the league's third-best record. Tippett has guided the Stars to a pair of 50-win seasons, something that 23 teams have not accomplished since his arrival in Dallas. Wilson, 57, and Lamb, 43, are each in the fifth season as assistants with the Stars. Dallas leads the Pacific Division with 48 points - five ahead of the San Jose Sharks. |
