Can anyone recall a time in recent memory with 23-man rosters when a team went for an extended period of time with three goalies? Not that any of the Coyotes' goalies were projected to be major fantasy options this season, but it's causing headaches to determine when they will start, as Mikael Tellqvist, David Aebischer, and Alex Auld seem to be on equal footing through the first two weeks of the season. Who's going to end up prevailing? It seems like it will be the player who performs well in the early going. It's a good thing that Wayne Gretzky is an owner...

| After a 15-month hiatus, John Muckler has landed himself another position in an NHL front office. The Coyotes hired Muckler on Tuesday, naming the former Stanley Cup-winning coach as the team’s senior advisor to general manager Don Maloney. Muckler, 74, served as the general manager of the Ottawa Senators from 2002-2007. The Ontario native helped build the high-scoring Senators club that reached the 2007 Stanley Cup Finals.

| The Coyotes on Thursday signed a two-year affiliation agreement with the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League. The Rampage have been the Coyotes’ affiliate since the 2005-06 season. Along with San Antonio GM Brad Treliving, Maloney will make all hockey-related decisions for the Rampage. Last season, San Antonio set a team record by collecting 94 points during the regular season, the third-highest total by an AHL affiliate of Phoenix. The Rampage, who play their home games at the AT&T Center, qualified for the Calder Cup playoffs for the first time since their inaugural season in 2002-03, posting a 42-28-3-7 record. |
